Nostr Identifiers

Nostr is an open network where you own your identity—no big tech in the middle. Instead of usernames, everyone has a long public key (kind of like a password, but shareable). To make life easier, there’s NIP-05 identifiers: simple, email-style names (like you@vbtc.org.au) that point to your key. As a member, we can host one for you so people can find and recognize you more easily. Just pop your public key and your preferred handle into the form below and you’re set.

4. Click on QR Code in profile
5. Click the copy icon next to the string of text which starts with ‘npub’ (right underneath the QR code)
